My gear
Everything here is on my desk right now and gets used to build, stream and edit the channel. Nothing is listed that I don't own.
Heads up: the links below are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through one, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It helps keep the planner free and the lights on. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Audio
The part I spent the most time getting right. Clean voice on its own track, game audio on another, so a stream can be re-cut without my commentary baked into everything.

Focusrite Vocaster Two
The interface the whole mic chain runs through. Having real preamps and hardware monitoring removed a pile of software problems I used to fight every stream.

Rode PodMic
Dynamic XLR mic, which matters in a room that isn't treated — it hears me and ignores most of everything else.

Razer BlackShark V2 X
What I actually monitor on for long sessions. Light enough that a six-hour stream doesn't become a headache.

Edifier G1500 Max 2.1
Desk speakers with a sub for when the headset comes off. Enough low end to hear what a mix really sounds like.

LG 34GS95QE 34" ultrawide OLED
240Hz ultrawide OLED. The extra width is the point: factory layouts and the planner side by side without alt-tabbing.

Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro
The command dial and macro keys do real work mid-stream, not just lighting.

Razer Basilisk V3 Pro
Wireless, and the free-spin wheel is genuinely useful when you're scrolling a 700 m tower's worth of foundations.
Stream control
Scene switching, mic and game mutes, and recording controls on physical keys. Far fewer mistakes than hunting for a hotkey while talking.

Ulanzi D200X Creative Deck
Fifteen keys and three dials. Mine runs scenes, per-source mutes, live stream stats and a one-press button that moves finished recordings to my NAS.

Elgato Stream Deck +
Dials plus keys. The better-supported option if you'd rather not write your own plugins, which I ended up doing.

Lenovo Legion 7i Pro
Everything runs on this one laptop: the game, OBS encoding two streams at once, and editing afterwards. It is the whole studio.
Software I actually use
No links on these — nothing to sell, they're just what the channel runs on.
OBS Studio
Free. Streams to two platforms at once and records isolated audio tracks so a stream can be re-cut cleanly.
DaVinci Resolve
Editing and colour. The free version does almost everything — I moved to Studio mainly for the scripting API, so timelines, markers and renders can be driven automatically instead of by hand.
Social Stream Ninja
Free. Merges Twitch and YouTube chat into one overlay so nobody gets missed.
The Overbuilder planner
Free, and built for this series: production chains, machine counts, power and the whole world's resource budget. Open it.
